The nearby primary school as soon as once again won the regional award for collecting essentially the most glass inside a year.

KLOOF Senior Major School collected a whopping 71.four tons of glass bottles and jars in 2019 and was announced as the regional winner of the Glass Recycling Company’s (TGRC) annual schools competition.

For its continued efforts, the college also received a R30 000 prize.

The 2019 competitors saw schools compete across Gauteng, the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Durban.

The 3 top-performing schools had been chosen in every participating area and received R30 000 (first prize for regional winner), R20 000 (regional runner-up) and R10 000 (regional third prize).

All through the competitors, there have been also month-to-month prizes awarded towards the leading performing schools per area.
